WHERE ETHICS AND LUXURY COEXIST

We chose zebrawood because of its simple and almost graphic texture. While this type of wood is usually used vertically to avoid complications with the patterns, in this case, we placed it horizontally to make the room feel more spacious. This decision meant that we had to cut big pieces of wood and make sure that the textures coincide from one panel to the next.

The different types of tiles used, defined the size and shape of each room. So, in this building it’s the material that defines the architecture and not the other way round, the material is never modified nor manipulated.

We strategically placed a pond near a constant air stream so that the house is kept cool in an ecologic way.

To unify the different rooms, we used a monochrome palette everywhere while we also framed strategic spots in black so that there was continuity and coherence of elements along the house.

Technical information:

  • The kitchen is made of anthracite, while the cooktop is made of imported, aged granite, which has gone through a protective acid treatment. Thanks to this, we have the genuine character of a rock with the benefits of a man-made material.
  • The kitchen doors are made of zebrawood (tropical wood) and an anti-fingerprint matt lacquer.
  • The structure of the kitchen is lifted from the floor for hygienic, ergonomic and design reasons.
