Once this type of wood was chosen, the room's mood gained so much in personality that it was just a question of compensating the wood's great presence with a simple and minimalistic environment that allows it to breathe. 

We decided to dye the Oakwood a darker shade so that it would combine with the walnut wood that is found in the rest of the house. Thanks to this decision, we created harmony while also gaining the freedom to use the type of wood that we deemed more appropriate in this specific area.

We decided to dye the Oakwood a darker shade so that it would combine with the walnut wood that is found in the rest of the house. Thanks to this decision, we created harmony while also gaining the freedom to use the type of wood that we deemed more appropriate in this specific area.

WHERE ETHICS AND LUXURY COEXIST

To create coherence within the kitchen, we used a monochrome palette. We used black as the main color, which we then deconstructed into different shades of grey, as we wanted to see where this took us.

The result was a black cooktop; dark grey shelves and light grey walls. Even some shades of grey can be spotted in the dark textures of the wood at some moments of the day.

Technical information:

  • The 12 mm thick cooktop is made of a ceramic-like material that's also non-breakable and non-scratchable.
  • The doors in the cook area use an anti-fingerprint matt lacquer, applied manually in a completely artisanal manner.
  • The Oakwood is dyed manually with a paintbrush and sponge. As some areas absorb more coloring than others, the process can't be done automatically and it requires intuition, timing, and extra care.
